15 doc per un Oscar
Tra i magnifici, anche Guggenheim, Ferguson e Gibney: la cinquina il 25 gennaio, premiazione degli 83esimi Academy Awards il 27 febbario
L'Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences ha annunciato i 15 titoli selezionati su oltre 100 nel processo di voto per la categoria Documentary Feature degli 83esimi Academy Awards. Questi i documentari prescelti: Client 9: The Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer di Alex Gibney; Enemies of the People di Rob Lemkin e Thet Sambath; Exit through the Gift Shop di Banksy; Gasland di Josh Fox; Genius Within: The Inner Life of Glenn Gould di Michele Hozer e Peter Raymont; Inside Job di Charles Ferguson; The Lottery di Madeleine Sackler; Precious Life di Shlomi Eldar; Quest for Honor di Mary Ann Smothers Bruni; Restrepo di Tim Hetherington e Sebastian Junger; This Way of Life di Thomas Burstyn; The Tillman Story di Amir Bar-Lev; Waiting for "Superman" di Davis Guggenheim; Waste Land di Lucy Walker; William Kunstler: Disturbing the Universe di Emily Kunstler e Sarah Kunstler.Tra questi 15, ora i membri del Documentary Branch Screening Committee selezioneranno i titoli della cinquina. Le nomination degli 83esimi Academy Awards verranno annunciate il 25 gennaio 2011 (5.30 am, Pacific Time) al Samuel Goldwyn Theater, mentre la notte degli Oscar č in programma il 27 febbraio 2011 al Kodak Theatre di Los Angeles, in diretta televisiva con oltre 200 Paesi.
